Shar Cartwright

Shar has been employed with Community Futures Crowsnest Pass since 1990 in the capacity of Manager (1996-present) and Business Analyst (1990-1996).  She has extensive experience and education in financial management, customer service training/trainer, management and administration, and human resource management.  Shar has a strong commitment to community and represents the Crowsnest Pass as a Municipal Councillor. She has also served on the School Board as well as  in a wide variety of volunteer capacities including 20 years as Regional Advisory Committee member and 8 years as Chair of Chinook Educational Consortium, Lethbridge College Regional Advisory Committee, the Chamber of Commerce as Secretary, Treasurer, President, Past President, and Director, Board member and Treasurer CNP Ski Society,  Board member South West Alberta Trails, Crowsnest Museum, Secretary-Treasurer Crowsnest Heritage Initiative, Hillcrest Mines Cemetery – Mine Disaster Interpretive and Centennial projects, former Community Board member Crowsnest Credit Union, Turning Pointe Dance studio, and CNP Quad Squad/CNP Rescue during the 2003 Lost Creek Fire.

Larry Saloff

Business Analyst

Larry is a professional accountant with 30 years of comprehensive experience in a wide range of industries. With an MBA from the University of Calgary in Finance and New Venture Development, his experience includes commodity tax analyst for Shell Canada, Regional Accounting Supervisor for Royal Trust and teaching financial and managerial accounting at the University of Lethbridge. Larry also worked as a self-employed management consultant and built several successful small businesses including a travel company, entertainment company and touring musical stage show.

For the past six years, Larry has been the Business Analyst for Community Futures Crowsnest Pass assisting clients with business support, analysis and support of business proposals. He is also the founding director of the Crowsnest Opportunity Development Cooperative (CODC), a pilot project of “Unleashing Local Capital” in conjunction with Rural Alberta Development Fund, Alberta Community Cooperatives Association, and Community Futures Network Alberta.

Joni is the newest member of our team, joining us in September 2016. Originally from Toronto, she has a BA in English from York University and has worked as both a freelance journalist and as editor of weekly community newspapers. Through her work, Joni has written extensively on many of the issues and events in southern Alberta and is an active member of the community, serving on numerous non-profit committees and boards
